About this event

OVERVIEW

We’ll connect over our shared experiences with The Superkids Reading Program and inspire one another to commit to reading success for each of our students.

This year has challenged and changed all of us. Now is a time to reflect on what’s working, celebrate big and small wins, share best practices, and recharge our batteries. It’s a time to rally together to prepare for a joyful, better year ahead.

For just $99 per person, your ticket includes access to three live, online sessions and extended access to six recorded learning modules (see agenda and details below). Use promo code SKTEAM to save 15% on orders of six or more tickets for your whole team.

LIVE SESSIONS

Live sessions take place online June 22, 2021. Sessions will also be recorded and made available to ticket holders through the extended access window (June 22–August 31, 2021).

Kick-Off & Morning Keynote

Join us for a welcome message from Zaner-Bloser and morning keynote by Dr. Lisa Lucas, author of Practicing Presence: Simple Self-Care Strategies for Teachers. In her presentation Self-Care, Self-Compassion and Stress Reduction Strategies for Superkids Teachers, Dr. Lucas will share evidence-based research strategies to examine how a well-trained mind can support a culture of engaged students and educators. If we want a culture our own healthy habits and routines so that we can connect more authentically with our students, collaborate more mindfully with our colleagues, and manage our stress more effectively. FAQs

What is included with my ticket?

Your ticket includes access to the live event sessions, including your choice of grade-level (or administrator) interactive session; access to recorded learning modules and accompanying handouts June 22–August 31, 2021; and ability to submit discussion question(s) for consideration.

How will I access the live event sessions?

You and everyone you register will receive a confirmation e-mail after your tickets are purchased. That e-mail will include links to the online event sessions, hosted on the Zoom platform, to use on June 22. You will also receive a reminder e-mail before the event, which will include the links again.

How will I access the learning modules?

Very early on June 22, you and everyone you register will receive an e-mail with instructions for accessing the learning modules. You will have access to the learning module videos, handouts, and recorded live sessions through August 31, 2021.

I teach an older edition of Superkids. Should I attend?

The live, interactive grade-level sessions and learning modules will feature content and examples from the current © 2017 edition of Superkids. Most, if not all, of the tips, recommendations, and activities will apply to any edition of Superkids.

Which interactive session should I choose?

When you purchase your ticket, you will be prompted to select a ticket type that corresponds with the Interactive Session (Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, or Administrator) you will attend. If you are registering on behalf of others, you will select the ticket type for each person at the time of payment. We recommend that kindergarten, first-grade, and second-grade teachers attend the session for their grade level. Coaches, interventionists, and other teachers that support more than one grade level can opt for any of the relevant grade-level sessions. Principals and other administrators are encouraged to register for the administrator session.

How can I submit a question for the panelists in my grade-level session?

Your confirmation e-mail will include a link to a form to submit a question for consideration. If you cannot find it on your confirmation e-mail, use these links:

Kindergarten Question Form

Grade 1 Question Form

Grade 2 Question Form

Administrator Question Form

I submitted a question. Will it be answered during my grade-level session?

We cannot guarantee there will be time to address all questions. We will select questions that are the most commonly asked or that are relevant to the widest audience.

Can I attend more than one interactive grade-level session?

No. Please select the best option for you when you register. You will, however, be able to watch recordings of all the sessions after the live event concludes, through August 31, 2021.

Will the live event sessions be recorded for extended access?

Yes, video recordings of the live event sessions (including all grade-level sessions) will be added to the learning module videos. You can access them through August 31, 2021.

Will I get a reminder e-mail?

Yes, you will receive reminder e-mails about a week before the live event and one day before the live event. Your confirmation e-mail includes easy add-to-calendar links for the event as well.

What do I need to have with me for the live sessions?

We recommend you have something to write with and something to write on for each of the live sessions. Lisa Lucas is incorporating a few at-home activities during her presentation and you'll likely want to take notes during your interactive grade-level session.

How can I convince my principal, school, or district to pay for my ticket?

You can download and customize our justification letter for the conference.

Do you offer continuing education unit (CEU) credits?

No, we do not. You will receive a certificate of attendance, however.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

Yes, you will receive a certificate of attendance via e-mail shortly after the conclusion of the live event. You will be able to customize the certificate posted on the Learning Modules website to indicate you viewed the pre-recorded sessions.

Can I get a refund or transfer my ticket to someone else if I cannot attend?

No, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. If a conflict arises, rest assured you can access all of the content at your convenience through August 31, 2021.

Should I register if I cannot log in for the three live sessions on June 22?

You do not need to be present for the live sessions. In fact, you can log in and out however you see fit. Don’t forget you will have access to all recordings through August 31, 2021.

Will I be charged an Eventbrite fee or taxes in addition to the ticket price?

You will not be charged taxes nor an Eventbrite fee on top of ticket price.

Can I register more than one person at a time?

Yes, you can purchase multiple tickets in one transaction. If you are registering on behalf of others, you will select the ticket type for each person at the time of payment. The ticket type corresponds with the Interactive Session (Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, or Administrator) each person will attend. Each person will receive a confirmation e-mail with their specific access information.

Will I receive handouts or presentation slides after the presentations?

Any handouts that accompany the learning modules will be made available to you with the learning module videos. Presentation slides will not be provided.

I received my confirmation e-mail and noticed that the Zoom links for the first and last live sessions on June 22 are the same. Is that a mistake?

No, that is not a mistake. You will access the 10:30 AM and 4:45 PM sessions with the same link.
